PC Gaming Guide

My Gear

My Kit page is a nice visual for all hardware I use. My PC setup is more than enough to handle the emulators below. You can use this to compare the specs recommended for each emulator.

PCSX2 (PS2) Emulator

PCXS2 – The main PS2 emulator. The site also covers their recommended PC specs.

PCXS2 Settings – Before showing you my settings, I strongly suggest you watch this video first. This guy does a great job explaining how to set up the emulator.

Below are my general settings which is pretty standard for most users. I still use an older version of the emulator which will look different than from the video above, but the settings and where they are located should be the same. After that are my graphics settings which can be different for everyone.

Memory Cards

MyMC – This is what you use to create memory cards and save files on the PCSX2. Below are videos that walk you through the process and how to back up saves if needed.

Iso Files & Modding

Vimm’s Lair – This is the iso/rom file database where you can download games for all kinds of consoles.

Cool Rom – Another great iso/rom resource.

Playbook Editor – This is how I update plays in NCAA Football 06.

NCAA NEXT – A fun updated mod for NCAA Football 06.

RPCS3 (PS3) Emulator

RPCS3 – The main PS3 emulator. The video below walks you through everything. I use his exact settings too.

Video Creation

OBS – Open free source app I use to record videos. The videos below cover several aspects of the app.

Camtasia – What I use to edit videos. There are free editors like DaVinci Resolve, but I use Camtasia since it’s more user-friendly with great features. Go free/cheap first before trying this one. Below is a great tutorial on how to use the app.
