6 Fun Team Playbooks in NCAA Football 06

I made videos on various fun team playbooks in NCAA Football 06.

Most who play NCAA Football 06 use custom playbooks, but there is nothing wrong with using a team playbook.

Team playbooks can give you both a challenge and ideas for future schemes without having to create anything.

I will cover these playbooks and videos from oldest to newest. Keep in mind that these offenses were from 2005.

Minnesota Balanced Playbook

Back in the mid-2000s, Minnesota had some strong teams mainly due to their offenses. They kept is simple and focused on the run game. This playbook has your typical pro style formations, but you can do a lot with this scheme in general.

South Carolina Balanced Playbook

2005 was Steve Spurrier’s first season at South Carolina. Back then, he still believed in his vaunted Fun N’ Gun Offense. This is a pretty typical pro style offense, but I would treat it a nice alternative to the orignal scheme to attack down field early and often from pro sets.

West Virginia Spread Playbook

Do yourself a favor and watch some West Virginia film from the mid to late 2000s. There is plenty of it YouTube. Rich Rodriguez’s offense dominated back then, and this playbook mimics it pretty well. You will have a lot of fun with this playbook. It also helps if you have a Pat White at QB too!

Miami (FL) Balanced Playbook

Even with Miami’s powerful run was winding down by 2005, their offense was still fun to watch. Their pro style playbook has some unique formations with great plays in them. Give this one a shot if you’re interested in that type of scheme.

Boston College Balanced Playbook

Here is another strong pro style playbook in 06. Boston College had a great run in the 2000s, and their offense is a major reason why. I even wrote a book about the scheme. This is just another great option for those who like more sophisticated offenses.

Louisvlle Pro Style Playbook

Here is another playbook that solidifies why balanced playbooks are so great, just so much you can do with these types of schemes. Bobby Petrino has the Cardinals flying high back in the day, and their offense with the thing that started it all.

Conclusion

Yes, most of these playbooks are in the balanced/pro style variety, but that is not a bad thing. Playbooks that use a wide variety of formations containing many types of concepts is a great way to prepare for all types of situations.

Any of these playbooks should provide a sound scheme to score a ton of points with.
